Over time, cosmetic tattooing begins to fade and becomes less expressive. This happens due to external factors, such as the work of the body’s defense cells, which destroy and remove the pigment. On what depends on the colour of the pigment
With high-quality tattooing, the pigment will lighten slightly, but the colour and shape will remain stable. However, there are cases when the form is blurred, and the colour disappears or goes into unpredictable shades—then it is necessary to go to a specialist.
The pigment behaviour is influenced by:
- The work of the master;
- Chemical composition;
- Skin characteristics, including its pH;
- Age;
- Amount of sun exposure.
How often should a refresh be done?
If we translate ‘refresh’ as a renewal or correction, refreshment, and restoration procedure. It is carried out to preserve the selected shade and prolong the life of the PM.
The main task is to correct the natural whiteness of the makeup.
On average, it is carried out once every year and a half. But in practice, each case is different. It does not affect the peculiarities of the skin, pigment, or the prehistory of permanent makeup.
Abuse is not worth it because the less traumatised the skin, the longer it will allow you to wear pigment.
Tattoo correction and the difference from refresh
The application of permanent tattoos is a two-stage procedure. The first stage allows the master to get acquainted with your skin, identify features, and then apply the tattoo itself.
A month later, when the regeneration and skin renewal are completely finished, the correction is carried out—this is the second stage. The master looks at the result at this stage and, if necessary, corrects the shape, adds colour, or adjusts the brightness. The tattoo is considered complete only after correction.
Differences in procedures:
- Correction is a mandatory procedure. Refresh PM is carried out at will.
- Refresh is better to do not earlier than a year later. Correction is necessary one or two months after the first permanent procedure.
- At correction, the master brings to the ideal form, colour, fixes tattooing, when at refresh the colour is renewed according to the current form.
